We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Assistant III in our Corporate Headquarters located in Houston, TX.

Position Summary:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports and accounts payable or receivable functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Relying on experience and knowledge, the Accounting Assistant III is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments reflect substantial variety and complexity and are broad in nature.

  • Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases.
  • Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports and other records, and review for accuracy.
  • Code data and input into financial data processing systems according to company procedures.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts with various registers and may perform bank reconciliations.
  • Extract and analyze general ledger information for use in analysis and reports.
  • Research and respond to both internal and external customers regarding inquiries and resolve issues and discrepancies.
  • Provide ad hoc information and data analysis as requested to support both current work and special projects.
  • Recommend solutions to process or service obstacles and contribute to ongoing process improvement.
  • Perform other general clerical duties such as filing, copying, typing, answering phones and operating departmental office equipment.

Job Requirements

Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent


  • Minimum of five years of relevant and progressive experience in accounting and/or finance


  • Possess and have ability to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
