Under supervision, liaises between Artisan Underwriters and IT department to improve the current operating system. Analyzes, communicates, and validates requirements for changes to business processes and information systems to ensure the company’s systems operate smoothly. Analyzes existing and proposed business processes and any related upcoming challenges and recommends solutions that enable the organization to improve quality, efficiency. and ultimately reduce costs and achieve company goals.



Key Responsibilities:

Relying on limited experience and knowledge, the Artisan Systems Analyst is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are varied in nature.

 

  • Consult with business users to identify current business operating procedures and to clarify program objectives.
  • Lead any new implementations (such as a new product) by translating business needs into the applicable system requirements and guide the process from requirements gathering, to testing and implementation.
  • Construct application simulations based on business user requirements.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing.
  • Use formal written communication methods to communicate informational updates and system improvements (e.g. emails, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations).
  • Identify opportunities to improve the system.
  • Attend meetings with the project teams regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines.
  • Create and maintain issue/bug logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries, updates, determine daily priorities and follow the proper escalation paths.
  • Participate in company projects by providing information from  the System’s point of view.
  • Develop underwriting reports for various classes enabling always current underwriting audit results.
  • Periodically report on metrics, variances and expectations, and measures taken to remedy adverse developments.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of relevant and progressive professional experience in business system analysis, including business requirements analysis and documentation
  • Experience in insurance industry preferred

Other

  • Possess and have ability to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
