Job Description

Job Purpose:

Assist the Expense Supervisor and Expense Management team in the efficient running of the Expenses department.

Great entry level role with scope for progression.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks:

The role is split into 2 main areas:

1. Expense Management

  • Analyse monthly expense movements against prior months and budget.
  • Provide expense reports and movement explanations on an ad hoc basis to various Departments.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly accounting journals and key balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process.

2. Accounts Payable

  • Ensuring accurate coding and entering of supplier invoices into automated AP workflow system.
  • Organising and releasing payments, including batch and manual payments within deadlines.
  • Maintenance of the supplier account database and review of supplier statements.
  • Address supplier and staff queries in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with the other AP processes including Travel and Expenses claims, checking and paying, month end close.

 Plus Ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

Job Requirements

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in Microsoft systems (incl. strong Excel skills).
  • Knowledge of general accounting and Accounts Payable (AP) processes/ principles. ( i.e. worked in or studied general accounting or AP)
  • Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and analysis skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate with various levels within the business.
  • Good team worker and have the ability apply own initiative.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Peoplesoft Financials accounting system.
  • Experience in an AP or expense management.
