Job Description

Job Purpose

Responsible for managing TME’s claims department composed of local claim teams in its branches, oversighting TPA’s service and relationship and providing the management of TME, its board and its mother company TMHCC International with relevant and complete reporting and strategic recommendations.

You will report into TMHCC’s Head of International Claims.

You will interact with the local claim teams, the local underwriting teams, TME and TMHCCI management team and their actuarial departments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Role

  • Supervise service to brokers / clients for all accounts and classes of business underwritten when claims arise thereon.
  • Host / attend meetings as required managing client relations, especially forJ business.
  • Oversee adjudication of claims by staff – especially high value, complex cases (initial point of referral for branch referrals)
  • Regular travel visiting branches.
  • Agree to claims reserving referrals within authority and manage referrals in excess of personal authority
  • Review of largest claims and provide strategic recommendation where needed.
  • Implement Large Loss Report best practice in Europe.

Reporting and Control

  • Provide the management of TME and TMHCCI with regular activity reporting
  • Participate to several TME committees as established in its corporate governance structure
  • Review and agree TPA’s choice and use and monitor performance
  • Ensure all reporting and referral procedures are adhered to within required timeframes.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with record keeping requirements
  • Monitor claims aggregations for reinsurance purposes
  • Work with Head of International Claims to ensure key matters are accurately and timely reported especially for month end and quarterly close.
  • Ensure authority levels and reporting guidelines are adhered to across all branches and regularly reviewed.
  • Assist in completion of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) reviews, producing reports and ensure follow up on any recommendations arising.
  • Monitor KPIs, SLAs and report results to Head of International Claims
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, including but not limited to, SII, Conduct risk, TCF, GDPR
  • Ensure pro-active management of any delegated authority arrangements ensuring regular reviews completed and documented.
  • Assist Head of International Claims with any considerations for IBNR review.
  • Assist the Chief Risk Officer and the Chief Actuary of TME

Team Management

  • Ensure a good communication and collaboration between teams in Europe
  • Promote knowledge and best practice sharing among teams
  • Manage and assess resources need and make suggestion to address deficiencies or weaknesses
  • Monitor individual claims staff performance, staff workloads and capability to provide service to customers.
  • Set team and individual objectives
  • Ensuring annual appraisals are completed and team benefit from relevant training program (and training logs are maintained).
  • Assess and review, salary increase, bonus and promotion recommendations
  • Assist Head of International Claims and the finance team with budget considerations and monitoring operational requirements.

 

Job Requirements

 Skills and Experience Specification:

  • Proven track record of technical claims handling across various Lines of Business.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders
  • Experienced manager in a multicultural environment
  • High level of Organisational skills
  • Numerate with an excellent working knowledge of Excel
  • Experience of producing accurate and relevant Management Information/metrics
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to communicate (multilingual) effectively at all levels
