We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Global IT Program Management in our Corporate Headquarters located in Houston, TX.



Position Summary: 

The IT Program Management Office directs and oversees the global information technology (IT) Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure IT programs and projects meet organizational goals and requirements. This role will develop and implement global PMO processes and policies, direct PMO team members, and work with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop IT projects and programs. 

Utilization of extensive global PMO skills and experience is essential to create and implement an IT PMO infrastructure that strives to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget and meet expectations 



Key Responsibilities: 

Relying on extensive knowledge and advanced leadership skills, the Director, Global IT Program Management is accountable for the following responsibilities: 

Project Management Governance

  • Set standards for project management, methodologies, success measurement, and tools
  • Set standards for project prioritization across the shared teams
  • Drive the adoption of tools and best practices for efficient, rapid, and predictable program execution using contemporary tools and practices such as Agile
  • Monitor compliance with policies and standards
  • Ensure resource plans, budgets, and schedules for development programs are accurate and realistic
  • Execute change management, vendor management and resource allocation program across the enterprise IT organization
  • Develop and Implement standards for training of IT project managers 

Project Tracking & Monitoring

  • Improve enterprise-wide project tracking, monitoring, and reporting infrastructure for projects
  • Navigate program teams through a disciplined stage gate process (e.g. project/stage gate authorizations, stage gate reviews) and other go/no-go decisions by executive leadership; Ensure that decisions are informed by a balanced and clearly articulated representation of the relevant data
  • Work with Senior IT leaders to build a portfolio of projects, based on multi-year roadmaps that are structured to be successful from project start date to end date
  • Manage and improve project management systems and reporting to measure and report on project status including: progress, business benefit, expense, overall status and success factors against plan
  • Manage the risk, issue, and change resolution process and work with other leaders to take corrective action as necessary
  • Oversee project team members for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within scope and on budget 

IT Compliance

  • Working with internal risk, audit, and security groups drive execution of IT compliance activities across the IT organization globally
  • Monitor and report on global regulatory compliance changes impacting IT
  • Resource Development
  • Partnering with the HR organization, drive talent development practices across the corporate team, focusing on attracting and retaining the best talent and resource pipeline in the industry.
  • Supporting execution of the diversity strategy through working with a variety of stakeholders including HR and Business Leaders

Job Requirements



Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements: 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Computer Science, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience
  • Graduate degree preferred
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus

 Experience

  • Minimum of ten years of relevant and progressive experience in Portfolio and Program Management; designing and delivering global IT PMO infrastructure solutions and operational excellence
  • Minimum of six years of leadership experience of a global IT PMO team
  • Experience working with and influencing outcomes with executive audiences.
  • Experience leading and/or installing an IT PMO within an organization
  • Experience defining governance/project management frameworks, and measuring adherence
  • Proven experience with Agile and Waterfall Methodologies
  • Experience with regulatory compliance activities specific to Financial Services
  • Experience and comfort managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
  • Proven project planning and management experience

Other

  • Possess and have ability to apply advanced knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Technical understanding of PPM tools and experience with their implementation
  • Demonstrated success in implementing large, complex projects or programs, including global programs
  • Ability to develop solid relationships at all levels within an organization.
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities
  • Requires travel outside normal work location, including to international destinations (<10%)
