We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of IT Product Management in our Corporate Headquarters located in Houston, TX. This position will be a key member of the Corporate IT and will work extremely closely with the senior members of IT as well as various lines of business. Responsible for owning the specific IT products and the governance around these products. 

The Director of IT Product Management position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: 

  • Develops and gains consensus (through Executive Partnerships) for the program strategy consisting of short and long-term investment plans
  • Directs and oversees the teams that conduct the overall planning, design, development and run/maintain function of systems and technologies that deliver solutions for the client systems within the designated area of responsibility.
  • Develops and cultivates relationships across business lines to drive adoption of the strategic platform/program.
  • Contribute to new product development processes, analysis, and standards that capture product best practices and lessons learned, enhance product capability and robustness, and ensure compliance to industry and regulatory standards
  • Provides input into the formulation of the strategies of the IT function and based upon prevailing conditions, executes and/or adjusts the approved strategies of the areas of accountability. Outcomes directed and influenced have major impact on the organization’s short- and long-term results, critical customers or partners.
  • Guiding and providing technical direction on advanced research, involving significant interaction with internal customers, external suppliers, and senior technical community. 
  • Responsible for leading a matrixed multi-functional team and therefore working closely and effectively across all functions to ensure program success.
  • Through development and execution of projects, drive for success of operational and quality elements of the business 


  • Within the first 30 days, familiarize with TMHCC environment
  • Within the first 45 days, meet with the senior leaders within IT and Business Units to understand the existing strategies and product lines, introduce yourself and provide a high-level overview of your role.
  • At 90 days, as an integral part of the Corporate IT team, take ownership of the products.

Job Requirements


  • Experience: Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience with a focus on Product Management and Governance and minimum of six years of strong leadership experience. Insurance industry experience highly preferred
    • Ability to build trust and relationships with internal and external customers is essential
    • Optimization of work processes. Knows the most effective and efficient methods to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement
    • Understanding and experience of customer service IT approach
    • Sound analytical skills, as well as strong decision-making and problem-solving aptitude
  • Communication: Must be an exceptional communicator and able to make connections across the organization while working with different operations in multiple locations
  • Leadership: Must be a strong leader and able to delegate, inspire and plan effectively. Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams
  • Educational and skills requirements: 
    • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or a related field or the equivalent education and/or experience 
    • Previous experience working with various systems
    • Experience with several software development methodologies (i.e., Agile, SCRUM)
    • Experience in executing both product development and application / platform integration projects.
  • Overtime hours may be required
  • Will require travel outside normal work location
