Are you a recent college grad looking to start your career in Human Resources?

Tokio Marine HCC – Specialty Group, a member of the Tokio Marine Group of Companies, has an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Human Resources Assistant in our Wakefield, MA office.

This position will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Human Resources department. Additionally, this position will interact with all levels of employees and management within the Specialty Group, other Tokio Marine branch locations as well as the Tokio Marine HCC corporate office. An organized, detail-oriented work ethic is a must.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative duties in various areas of Human Resources.
  • Maintain personnel and recruiting files in accordance with Company and legal requirements; coordinate off-site storage.
  • Assist in the recruiting process by communicating with candidates, scheduling interviews, gathering paperwork, conducting employment background checks and applicant testing, etc.
  • Help organize new employee orientation, onboarding, and training programs.
  • May assist in coordinating the performance review process, the annual open enrollment period, and the weekly absences and timekeeping tracking processes.
  • Assist with preparing ad hoc reports and working on special projects, employee event planning, etc. as requested.
  • Coordinate and perform general office support duties in collaboration with other departments.
  • Respond to questions and requests regarding policies and procedures.

Job Requirements



Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or an equivalent field of study required

Experience

  • Up to one year of related experience in an office environment
  • Internship in Human Resources or Business preferred

Other

  • Possess and have ability to apply basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and provide cost effective ideas and solutions
  • Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
  • Must be able to handle changing priorities and frequent interruptions. The ability to handle multiple tasks, work at a fast pace, remain attentive to details, concentrate amid distractions and work both individually and as part of a team is also required
  • Ability to interact effectively and engage employees at every level in the organization on a daily basis
  • Able to learn and maintain knowledge of company and products
  • Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities
  • Some travel to branch locations may be required
