We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Desktop Support Specialist in our Corporate Headquarters located in Houston, TX.

Position Summary: 

Under general supervision, provides technical support by responding to, diagnosing, and resolving local desktop computer problems either personally or by directing the activities of less-experienced Desktop Support Specialists. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Relying on broad experience and judgment, the Lead Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for accomplishing the following responsibilities and has substantial latitude for actions or decisions made with minimal review. 

  • Provide second-tier support to end users for PC, server, or mainframe applications and hardware.
  • Personally perform and resolve all Senior Executive support issues.
  • Handle problems that the first-tier of Help Desk Support is unable to resolve.
  • Investigate and resolve user software and hardware problems.
  • Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications. development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems.
  • Recommend system modifications to reduce user problems.
  • Maintain currency and high level of technical skill in field of expertise.
  • Simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
  • Answer questions applying knowledge of software, hardware, and procedures.
  • Talk to programmers to explain software errors or to recommend changes to programs.
  • Develop user training materials and train users on software and hardware or recommend outside contractors to provide training.
  • Plan and oversee daily activities of entry- or immediate-level team members.

Job Requirements

Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements: 


  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Business, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience 


  • Minimum of six years of relevant and progressive professional experience in the Computer Operations area
  • Demonstrated experience in Desktop Administration


  • Possess and have ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities
  • May require travel outside normal work location
