Position Summary:

 Under general supervision, provides a wide variety of litigation support for the Company, including all subsidiaries, working primarily but not exclusively for litigation attorneys and Senior Litigation Paralegal & E-Discovery Specialist.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 Relying on experience and judgment, the Litigation Paralegal is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are broad in nature and work can be difficult

 

  • Perform word processing duties for the department that may include the creation of memos, correspondence, reports and presentations.
  • Maintain litigation and other electronic and paper files and may coordinate off-site storage.
  • Process incoming invoices and outgoing payments.
  • Input data into spreadsheets, databases, or other departmental systems.
  • Coordinate department schedules including establishing agendas, departmental meetings, arranging conference rooms, and managing appointments.
  • Answer phones, forward calls and take messages.
  • Maintain office supply inventory and distribute departmental mail.
  • Serve as a contact for both internal and external clients.
  • May arrange and coordinate business travel as directed by management.
  • May become involved in e-discovery tasks, including, but not limited to, legal hold process, document collections, document review, coding, and redaction, maintaining accurate, detailed, and current documentation related to data collection and data production, and other tasks as directed.
  • Assist with responding to discovery requests and subpoenas in litigation matters.
  • Summarize depositions.
  •  Assist attorneys with maintaining litigation case reporting database and generating reports.
  • Assist others on Corporate Legal team as needed.
  • Perform legal research using electronic legal information sources.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

 Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelors’ degree preferred
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent preferred

 

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of relevant and progressive litigation experience

Other

  • Possess and have ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience in using eDiscovery tools preferred
  • Show aptitude for, and interest in, information technology.
