Tokio Marine HCC – a member of the Tokio Marine HCC group of companies, has an exciting opportunity for a Risk Control Assistant in Auburn Hills, MI.

Position Summary:

 Under supervision, performs a variety of primarily routine tasks associated with the processing of risk control applications and related activity. May provide support services to various entities including the Michigan Township Participating Plan, and/or Tokio Marine HCC Public Risk Group.

 Key Responsibilities:

 Relying on limited experience and knowledge, the Risk Control Assistant II is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are varied in nature and frequently non-routine.


  • Input, review, and process risk control activity into designated database to assist in the application, assessment, and reporting processes.
  • Update and maintain departmental records such as accounts, applications, site reports, policies,property valuations, and related documents.
  • Prepare and draft correspondence such as applications, letters, report, or memorandums, using mail, fax, or other electronic means.
  • Answer phone and resolve basic inquiries or forward call to appropriate contact for resolution. Provide follow-up for risk control recommendations with policyholders, agents, or risk control representatives.
  • Prepare, process, and assemble approved resource material for distribution.
  • Forward requested related documents to internal departments such as Claims, Underwriting and Accounting..
  • Perform incoming and outgoing mail, fax distribution, and e-mailing to policyholders.
  • Maintain departmental files including the purging of outdated records. May coordinate off-site storage with in-house with compliance.
  • May perform research on risk related topics or prepare department reports, as needed.
  • Perform other general clerical duties such as setting up files, copying, filing, faxing, scanning, ordering supplies and operating departmental office equipment. Provide overall administrative assistance to department management.
  • May perform relief work within department or for other departments, as needed.
  • Recommend and participate in the implementation of improvements to current processes and procedures.
  • Attend risk control department meetings and committee meetings off site.

Job Requirements

Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred

• Minimum of two years of relevant and progressive office/clerical experience acquired from working in Risk Management, Insurance Underwriting or a related area.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
• Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities
• May require travel outside normal work location
